Top 10 Favourite Things (that aren't food)

Top 10 Favourite Things (that aren't food)

I am a sucker for a “favourites” youtube video or blog post. I love when creators take the time to write out some of their current favourite items from beauty to snacks to household items. It’s so fun to see what people are using every day and often surprising too! So I’ve been slowly curating a list of my own and these are the top 10 items I'm using daily right now.

Starting with..

Microfiber Towels

I recently found one for $10.00 at Indigo bookstore and it has a button so you can seal your wet hair in super tight. My hair takes forever to dry with the blow dryer so wrapping it in this towel for 30 minutes so it can soak up a ton of water while I get other stuff done, mind you without any annoying water drippage, is incredible. It’s also great to keep your hair secure while you lotion and makeup. As with everything on this list… I’m obsessed.

Lint Fabric Shaver

This is ridiculously satisfying. It removes lint from clothes or pillows so well. Myself and my boyfriend *had* a handful of older clothes that were covered in lint and it was driving me nuts because they’re basically unwearable. They look so old and bad that way but this satisfying little machine made everything look new and smooth again. I even used it on socks! Plus you’re helping the planet by not by throwing clothes out before you have to!

Tongue Scraper

I started using these just over a year ago and I can’t not use them now. My mouth does not feel clean without one of these. I use mine in the morning and without getting into details, you’ll be surprised you felt clean before tongue scraping.

I like this one.

Coconut Oil for Oil Pulling

I don’t have the best teeth, I’ve always been prone to cavities and my clean diet doesn’t seem to help. So over the past year I’ve been incorporating additional natural remedies that can aide in overall oral health. I’ve been oil pulling most mornings for the better part of a year now and I notice a big difference in how clean my mouth feels after. Oil pulling can help with plaque and gingivitis too! You can read about it here.

Frownies Facial Patches

Okay, so I just started using these. I hold my focus and tension in my forehead and as I get older I’m noticing the not 11 but the deep 1 thats forming between my eyes. I hate it but I’m not willing to botox so I thought I didn’t have many options other than massaging the area and gua sha which don’t seem to have done much. I’m 4 days into using these facial patches and I no joke am already seeing a huge difference!!! It says it takes about 30 days of everyday use to see a major difference but after just a few days I’m already a believer. It’s a great alternative to botox and fillers if that’s not your thing. See me absolutely baby faced in a month :)

I use the forehead/between the eyes patches.

Saltyface Tanning Foam (this is the link for Canadians!)

I am obsessssssssed with this stuff! It gives you THE nicest glow, it’s non-toxic, vegan, cruelty free, and doesn’t have a funky smell. I love it so much. I’ve been using it weekly for a long time now. Only issue is it’s a Canadian company, local to Vancouver so it’s probably not accessible to many of you. So I do have a runner up product that I used for a long time before I found Saltyface and its this one..

Beauty By Earth Tanning Lotion

This one is great too, it’s non-toxic, vegan, cruelty free and gives you a nice summer glow.

Okay so this next one is DIME Beauty and I have *many* favourite for this company. I found them awhile back when I was deep diving into non-toxic beauty products and running everything through the EWG website. (Who am I kidding I still do that). If you don’t know EWG you can check out what they’re all about here. But they basically give ratings to beauty products (and household etc) based on their ingredients and the potential harm it can do to our health with consistent use. Well DIME Beauty came out not only with an A+ for non-toxic ingredients, but they’re actually EWG verified.

So the next thing to do was try their products, fall in love, then ask for a discount code to share with you and well.. check, check, check.

So here’s my top three DIME products:

Tinted Glow Wonderscreen

It’s part sunscreen, part tinted glow, part perfect skin base. I don’t wear a ton of makeup day to day as I’m working from home usually sat at the computer but a little wonderscreen, lip balm, and brows makes me feel put together and ready for the day. I love knowing when I pop out for my daily walks I already have my SPF on. For a night out I use this as my base and layer foundation on top and it’s the perfect light glow.

THE GLAZE Body Oil

This stuff makes you look expensive. I don’t know about you but just using lotion doesn’t give my body that youthful glow that it used to. The Glaze made from meadowfoam and jojoba oil makes you look red carpet silky and it’s perfect for the warmer months coming up when we’re showing more skin. My routine: shower, very lightly towel, full body lotion, full body glaze, two to three times a week.

7 Summers Perfume

I avoided perfumes for a long time due to their potential risks concerning hormone health. Then after some research this perfume is what introduced me to DIME in the first place. A completely non-toxic perfume that smells incredible. Of course they have other scents as well, and a great smelling men’s cologne I bought my boyfriend. It was the first thing I bought and I keep going back to it.

Curious to know if you use any of these or which ones caught your eye? I'm thinking snacks should be the next list because I love a sweet or salty snack and it's not usually a recipe but a grab and snack product. What do you think?
