Favourite Beauty Products of 2024
When shopping beauty products I look for ones that are easy to apply, last all day, feel good on my skin, and give me a natural glow. I don't wear a ton of makeup on a day to day basis so I love a light and natural look most of the time! The brands I chose to feature are all of these things as well as:
- Vegan & Cruelty Free (no animal by-products were used and no animal testing)
- Non-Toxic (must be safe for daily, long term use)
- Effective (if it covers the top two but doesn't work, I don't want it!)
There are a few brands and specific products that truly stood out for me this year. These brands will make you look good while doing good.
Merit Beauty
Products: concealer stick and bronzing stick.
Both products are perfect for those low maintenance days when you don’t want to wear a ton of makeup but you still want to look fresh faced and put together. They're light weight, truly blendable and give you a nice glow with a no makeup makeup look. The perfect running errands or grabbing a coffee glow.
Dime Beauty
Products: tinted sunscreen, perfume and lip balm.
I have been on the lookout for a non-toxic perfume for ages, so when I found Dime Beauty perfumes I instantly ordered the variety pack to find my scent. My favourites are the Seven Summers and Tuesday Date Night.
The tinted sunscreen, otherwise known as the Wonderscreen is *chefs kiss* no makeup makeup. It’s 30 SPF with minimal coverage and a major glow. It also comes in translucent if you want to go truly bare face.
A girl always needs a go-to lip balm and I love the feel, taste, and look of their chic packaged lip balm. This ones been living in my purse all year. P.s. it's not sticky, it's smooth, soft, and glossy.
Thrive Causmetics
Products: eyebrow tint and lip plumping gloss.
I used to get my eyebrows micro bladed and actually really love it but when I came across this Instant Brow Fix I used it as a replacement and it works really well! Only issue with it is it requires some finesse to put on so it does take a little bit of practice. Pro tip: start with as little product on the brush as possible and build up.
As a girly with thinner lips (compared them to the "current" beauty standard anyways) I love a good gloss with plumping action. The Sheer Strength Lip Plumper gloss feels a bit like putting tingly mint on your lips, and I kind of love it.
BKind
Product: Scalp & hair mask.
I use the Revitalizing Scalp Exfoliating product once a week with a silicone scalp brush. It makes my hair and scalp feel amazing! Did you know that a healthy scalp can help with overall hair health, hair growth, and reduce hair loss? Like everything, you've got to start at the root.
ILIA Beauty
Product: super serum skin tint.
I bought the Super Serum Skin Tint for the first time just over a month ago, and I am obsessed! It's not only buildable coverage, but it's 40 SPF and doubles as skin care with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and squalane. I can't wait to try more of their product line.
I will be taking *all* these products into the new year with me, and trying out more products from these brands in the months to come. I would love to know which products you've got your eyes on and which ones you've already tried, so let me know in the comments! Your comments also help others in the community looking to expand their ethical beauty bag.
Some honourable mentions that deserve a shout out for not only their ethical standards but these products have incredible price points to:
- The Ordinary. I use their Vitamin C Suspension every single day.
- Avalon Organics has great non-toxic shampoo and conditioner for under $20.
- Everyone Lotion is my go-to body moisturizer. It has great (mild) scents, covers all my standards and I love that it comes in bulk sizing for my household.
What did I miss? Let me know in the comments what we all need to be trying!?
